We put down 6000 sq ft of the product in a two story, new, Victorian Home. The product was consistant in size and fit from box to box. It went down quickly. The finished product looks great. It also goes well with the other wood trims in the house.

Flooring is beautiful when installed. Everyone that visits our home comments on how great it looks. We like it so well we are fixing to have it installed in our 3 bedrooms, living room and music room. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants a warm and inviting home. It looks like old heart pine when installed If you like contempory I would not recommend it.

I was disappointed to find the longest length was 2 ft in the load of 420 sq ft,all short pieces.always check befor you pay!,you pay for what you get,lower prices gets you shorter pieces

The floor is beautiful, but it takes a few weeks for the colors to really come out. Just a couple of scratches from where furniture was moved in. It's really easy to clean but hard to keep clean. It seems you see every footprint. However, I absolutely love this floor and would pick it a hundred times again.

We installed this product on the cement floor of our lake home. We glued it to the floor which made the installation more difficult than it normally would have been. Absolutely love the look but it does scratch more than I orginally thought it would. Have to be very careful to have felt pads on everything! I was surprised by how much it warmed the room and has very little "echo" effect. I would recommend this flooring.

If you want a floor that looks great and really gives you the old world look this is it. It also looks great in a modern home too. Priced it elsewere and this is more than a third of the price. The do it yourselfers can even do this.

We had great difficulty with this floor. It is beautiful, but not worth the hassle. This floor scratches and dents at the drop of a hat. If we would have known that this happens so easily (even with plastic footed things such as highchairs) we would never had purchased it. We have tried to get some form of hlep, and both Virginia Millsand Lumbar Liquidators told us too bad."

we ran out of material only one more row to go so i don't know how durable it is yet but i'll tell you one thing it is beautiful. it makes the room look so homey. i had light wood before i like the darker better because i have a bright house alot of light and the darker wood makes it warmer. well at least that's how i feel now. if i had a dark house with not much light i probably wouldn't have gone with the dark wood because i like bright and alot of light.

Have done a large eat in kitchen, dining room in PA house, and now two large irregular kids room and a walk in closet with 3/4 Armstrong/Bruce over the last 10 years. This is while expensive by a factor of 3x a VERY rewarding and beautiful product. The top finish is a little "thin" but the wood is the reason, so gouges or scratches will physically and visually show. I woudl not put this in a kids bedroom, family room, kitchen, or foyer i.e. high trafffic or "drop zone". GREAT for Living, music, library, adult den, and dining room. see pictures!

This is my second posting on this product. I did my first install last year in a Bedroom and walk in closet. One year later completed second Bedroom. This time I got a little more ambitious and install on a diagonal. Little more work, but if you plan carefully very, very little waste.

Due to budget, purchase product in two lots... but color was indeed close enough that you don't notice a difference (Although maybe I just got lucky... I would suggest you have store place a hold on original lot... which I believe they will do).

So two rooms done and at least 2 more to go. One more second floor bedroom and Office on 1st floor. This will be interesting, for this install will be on concrete.

Right now, I'm 100% satisfied!!!!

when installing, I thought this product was great. I was a bit concerned when in the store that the sample on teh floor was very scratched. However, I was told that received traffic off the street wtih sand, etc in their shoes.

Well needless to say, we have been in the house for 4 months & there are scratches all over in the finish. We don't wear shoes, so these come from kids playing, etc.

Considering the rewviews, I am highly disappointed in teh finish.

1. Really check the height of your adjoining floor before ordering trim. Tile floors vary in height depending on the amount of grout and size of cement board used.2. The manufacture,I believe, no long requires you to glue and nail. If you decide to glue and nail you don't need as much glue as recommended on all the websites. It is over kill and causes a lot of furstration for a do it yourselfer if you begin with to much glue...it squeezes out and gets all over everything. Keep the glue under the board only.3. The wood is 50% harder than oak. When cutting sparks are seen. I learned this is from the finish used. The wood is hard! Have a sharp blade.4. I learned that the seams should be about 6" from each other. I did not know this in the beginning.5. Talk to a professional if you are going to do it yourself. Their advice is needed. I was glad to learn how much space you need to allow for expansion and contraction. 6. Overall nice to work with but plan on it taking many hours to complete. Don't rush...take time to look at the different colors and mix them up...if you don't you can tell. Open three boxes and alternate the length and color variations...continue this same process until complete.7. My first time laying hard wood flooring and in the end I am very proud and pleased with the out come.8.[...]

The floor is very durable when you drop items (i.e. pots in the Kitchen), however some pieces have more durablability than others that can scratches easily. Most of the floor is very resistant to scratches or dents. I have received many compliments from everyone who walks into our home on how bueatiful and warm the floor makes our home feel.

We used this in our family and dining room which gets a lot of traffic from kids and pets. we have had it down for one month and it is great looking and easy to clean. The scraped flooring is easy to hide any big dents from kids or dogs. Just blends in with the look.

not cheap but a VERY high quality and beautiful product. I am not finished the dining room (240sq), but am going BACK to pick up another 300 sq of this stuff for the living room. We have been pricing carpet there and at 13.6 feet wide they are stealing from me on pattern seaming charges etc so this is [$]to carpet and "MOVE" the grand piano. so at 5.90/sq plus nails and my "back" and "popeye" forearm I am knocking that room out myself and putting two nice throw rugs in! This was the first time I ever installed a hardwood floor and I had no problems with the installation at all. No color variation box to box which was good. I had virtually no waste. I did have a few boards that were dry - probably milled from old trees as the board weight was < half of the normal boards. Luckily I caught them before installing them.

We put in about 600 sq. ft. of this handscraped Virgina Millworks Golden Teak into our kitchen, dining room, eating area, and pantry. Before, we had carpet and linoleum throughout... what a major difference!

My wife is completely excited about the new look...everyone who has seen it has asked where we got it and wants to look into something similar for their place.

Installation was straight forward. I definitely recommend taking the time to get the subfloor sound and the door jambs trimmed (Japanese pull saw is a great tool) before beginning to lay the floors. I also recommend a good pneumatic nailer...saved me tons and tons of time.

All around a great product. I didn't have one board out of the 26 boxes that I used that was in bad shape...they all were perfect. The boxes come with several sizes, color variations and everything. So, based on what I had, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to go from box to box to spread out the look of the floor. They really have it already taken care of for you.

I absolutely love this floor. It has beautiful wood color variations with slight reddish highlights. Because of the different color tones it easily hides marks, blemishes and scratches etc. We installed it in a guest bedroom/loft area and I didn't want my guests to have to take their shoes off when they walked on it. What I love most about it, is the fact that it is very forgiving. You can easily touch up minor scratches and blemishes with different color wood crayons. I mostly use black. When friends comment about how beautiful the floor is, they are amazed when we tell them it is teak wood and it did not cost us a small fortune.

Great Product! We were very skeptical being a "liquidator", however the ordering went smoothly, the behind the desk help was great, the pick up went smoothly, the packaging was good. I didn't install myself, however the friend/contractor we hired to do the work was surprised at the quality of the pieces as much as we were. Very elegant looking floor. Just what we were looking for.

We live in a 90 year old home and were looking for a product to have installed over our existing wood flooring that had more waves in it then Maui. I had [...] come out and they would not even touch the job. I had two more companies come out and they said they would do it but the cost was so high that I told then to take a hike. Finialy, a found a wood floor guy that has been doing floors for about 20 years and he said no problem. They laid the floor in three large rooms in 4 days and because of the soundness of the solid wood teak, the were able to shim out almost every wave. Our floors now look better then we were able to envision in our wildest dreams, and I ended up saving about 3 grand using Lumber Liquidators. Very Happy.

This product showed depth and fabulous grain. Just what we wanted. The width of the board brings its own set of circumstances, as well as the type of wood. Understanding that helped but the Liquidator folks need to be more forthcoming of the tendencies of the particular wood if there are any. Like the harder the wood is, brings on others tendencies like swelling & shrinking that's different than other wood types. Overall we are very pleased with the look and feel and the install we will judge in the future.

My only issue was that the milling changed and would not fit tongue and groove with same wood purchased a year ago. Other than that it is excellent!

What we liked about the floor was the woods variations in color and texture,when the sun hits this floor it really is beautiful. I would not recommend this floor to owners who want a uniform color and finish. This floor as compared to other floors seems to be easy on your feet.

This product was used in a living room, kitchen eating area and family room. It is beautiful and gives the space a warm, rich look. Because of the hardness of the wood it took a little more effort than normal to install. Longer pieces would have made the installation much easier. Despite these two downsides, we would use the same floor again.

Almost every board/plank looks like am expensive gun stock--is startlingly beautiful and already looks like a rare antique floor. Rave reviews from all--we entertain a lot and have two cats, clean up is a snap.

WOW! That's what friends and family members say when they see our new floor. We researched various hardwood floors for two weeks and visited numerous showrooms. My wife and I were unanimous in our decision to select the golden teak. After visiting the Albany showroom and discussing the options and ordering process with Lisa, the store manager, we knew this was the wood floor for our Lindal cedar home. In less than a week after selecting the flooring, we had it professionally installed and have enjoyed having several parties. The installers were even commenting on how nice it looked and how easy the teak was to install. This was the first time they had installed this kind of wood before. Our college-aged kids enjoyed it too.

We built a 40' x 25' Great Room and used this on the entire floor. It looks terrific. My installer says its was very easy.
The only con I can come up with is that my dogs hair shows a bit easy on it. Otherwise, we love it!

My husband is a builder but never had done hardwood floors until our home. It was so easy he now does prefinished hardwood for clients.. Everyone who comes into our home comments on our teak flooring and love it. We also have it in the master bedroom and now we are going to get rid of the carpet in the hall and put it there. The best part is, we have four dogs and we just clean it up with bellawood floor cleaner or murphys squirt and mop and all scratches disappear and it looks brand new. Not that it ever looks bad.

only weaknes are the floor grate inserts. It took forever to get them, I had to stain & finish them.
The sales staff were pretty much clueless as to what needed to be done with the floor grates. However,on balance it's a great product,worth the money,and a good choice for anyone.

Our builder's subcontractor installed the floor with glue and nails. That way there are no squeeks. He said it was a very good product, but that it had yet to be tested over time. The floor looks great even though there are few long pieces. We are very happy with our new Golden Teak floor.

The flooring is absolutely gorgeous, and makes the room feel much bigger and finished. I like to try new things on my own, So I readup on installing hardwood floors, and after you get all the prepwork done the floor goes down very easy. I only wish I would have finished the entire floor in in rather then split it up with tile

We belive the product itself is very good. The stores need to carry samples which represent the color much more closely. Our sample was significantly lighter in comparison to the actual wood we received. We probably would have returned it due to this fact, but we ordered over 1300 sq.ft. of wood. Approx 58 boxes! We were trying to match a wood flooring to our downstairs. I shopped many different retailers and manufacturers and finally decided on this flooring because the sample matched so perfectly to our downstairs. When we received the wood it was reddish black NOT reddish golden. VERY unlike the sample! Because we had so many boxes we installed them anyway. We love the product but dissapointed with the reddish black color. Otherwise it is a good product.

Installed in my great room, office, hallway and bedroom. Looks great in all the rooms. I have antiques so the flooring is perfect.

Only negative, I have one very heavy piece of furniture and moving it made a scratch. I would recommend furniture pads for any really heavy pieces.

I did NOT install this myself....however, my contractor said that the product was easy to install. It replaced 23-year-old carpeting in the family room and dining room. Pros: beautiful, rich finish and coloration, solid wood feels great. Cons: scratched rather easily during the install by accidentally placing the new planks on top of the installed flooring...thought it was the fault of the nailer, but, not the case...once we figured that out, we had no further problems.
Room acoustics will change dramatically as well.

Beautiful, warm and rich in appearance. Sample was much lighter than shipment, but glad it was as colour is very rich and warm. The carved looked adds to the rusticness - and it does not interfere with furniture, runners, walking etc. Floor will outlast our lifetime and visitors say it has increased the value of our home.

As long as you end a run with a long piece. That is cut what you need to finish a run out of a long piece you can use the cut off end to start the next run and have no waste.

This was my first attempt at installing a hardwood floor. I put a lot of work into prepping the room (painted ceilings, removed baseboard, cut out bottom of door frames to allow wood to slip under). Purchased a fair amount of tools. And did a good amount of reading articles on the WEB on how to install wood floors.

But once the prep work was done, the floor almost went down like playing with Lego’s. The beveled edges help hide an minor mistakes, and waste was almost non-existent.

Toughest chore was carrying all the wood to the second floor bedroom.

I recently installed 1250 square feet of this product, and I would recommend it. With a name like Virginia Millworks, I was a little surprised that the product was made in China. The product was high quality though, and I had very few pieces that couldn't be used. The assortment in sizes worked out great, but around 75% of the lengths were around 24" long, with the longest size a little over 40". The finish and reddish brown color looks fantastic and worked out great with our cabinet color, but the sample I had received looked more golden brown, which is what I would have preferred since I had my oak stairs and handrail stained to match the sample.
I am satisfied with this product and if you’re looking for hand scraped flooring, this is the product for you.

Just had this flooring installed by a professional in our newly constructed house. It looks great! The installer said he had no trouble with the installation. When we first placed our order for 700 sf, we were at first alarmed to find out that the random sizes would include one-foot-long pieces. We went ahead anyway, since we couldn't find any other finish we liked as much. No worries after seeing the installation, I've never even noticed the short pieces. The floors look so good and we are very pleased with the value. We've seen much more expensive wood floors that aren't as nice.I can't comment on the cleanability as we have not moved into the house yet, but the appearance is just what we were hoping for.[...] We love it.
